Donate today to preserve the history of leather and kink
$36,352 raised
$30,000 goal
We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!
In 1991 the devastation of AIDS was ripping apart lives and communities, and in the process destroying any evidence of their existence. Chuck Renslow saw the need for an organization to collect and preserve this fragile history, and with the advice and wisdom of Tony DeBlase created the Leather Archives & Museum. For 30 years, LAM has worked to ensure that the stories, art, artifacts and culture of leather, kink, fetish and BDSM could be kept safe and made available to community members, scholars, writers, artists and anyone curious to learn more.
As this difficult year nears its close, we have an exciting opportunity and offer of support. The John Palatinus Trust has been an ardent supporter of LAM for many years. In honor of the 30th anniversary, they have issued a challenge....if LAM can raise $30,000 over the next 8 weeks, the John Palatinus Trust will match those funds with a additional $30,000!
This is an ambitious goal, but our community has a long history of generosity. Please consider a gift today. Remember that LAM is a 501(c)3 and your support may be tax deductible. This year, the CARES Act provides an “above-the-line” deduction for charitable gifts made by 12/31/2021 in cash/check/charge of up to $300 in total ($600 for married/filing jointly) to qualifying charitable organizations. This deduction does not require you to itemize on your 2021 tax return, as it is an above-the-line deduction.
